What is the difference between the Train and Play classes compared to the other classes offered at UPB?
The biggest difference between the Train and Play class versus the other classes is for the last 20 minutes of the class, your athlete will play in live scrimmages against their peers and get to have a feel for a real game. They will be able to play what they learned in the first 40 minutes to real game situations.
What do I need to bring for training?
We provide basketballs at the facility but your athlete can always bring their own. We also have a water fountain in the facility but encourage your athlete to bring their own water bottles. We please ask that athletes are in athletic gear ready to get to work!
How will my athlete benefit from private training compared to group training?
Your athlete can benefit from both the private and group training sessions. In private training, it is more detailed and in depth as the coach's eyes are on your athlete for one hour and the coach can easily identify certain areas of skills your athlete can work on. Athletes will also get more reps in. Group training sessions are beneficial for your athlete because they will be working in groups and they can learn from their peers. Kids can develop their communication skills and create friendships with other athletes who attend these sessions.
Is my athlete ready for private training?
We believe your athlete is always ready for private training. If your athlete is dedicated to improving their game and takes the game seriously, they will benefit greatly from a one on one training session!
How do I book private sessions?
Private training sessions are booked via email with our Director of Basketball Operations, Ruta. (privatetraining@upbtraining.com) You and Ruta will coordinate on a day and time that works best for yours and/or your athlete’s schedule!
