Player Development Coaches

  • Coach Hannah was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She moved to Seattle, Washington in 2014 to attend the University of Washington and played for the women's team for five years, making it to the Final Four one year and the Sweet Sixteen the following year. She finished her collegiate playing career in 2019 while earning Bachelor's degree in Women Studies and Master's degree in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership Coaching. After graduating, Hannah moved to Malta, Europe to play professionally and coach the youth. During the three years living there, she was the head coach of the U19 & U14 girls team while also doing private and small group trainings on the side. Hannah moved back to California in 2022 and spent one season as a High school Assistant Varsity Women's Coach while also traveling around the country putting on showcase camps as an Assistant Camp Director and Skills Coach. She very passionate in working with athletes of all ages and watching them tap into their potential. She enjoys working with individuals not only to teach them the game of basketball but to also teach them life lessons through the sport. Work ethic and attitude is what she values most.

  • Coach Garrett was born and raised in Menlo Park, California and attended Summit Prep high school. After graduating in 2019, Garrett continued his playing career at UC Santa Cruz. He graduated in Spring of 2023 with a B.S. in Cognitive Science. Garrett is excited to be joining UPB and is passionate about coaching, teaching and learning the game of basketball. He enjoys being part of the basketball community and is looking forward to giving back to the next generation of hoopers.

  • Coach Colby was raised in Millbrae, California, and graduated from Mills High School in 2019. Following high school, Colby played basketball at Skyline College for two years. After his time at Skyline, he earned an athletic scholarship to play at the University of Jamestown in Jamestown, North Dakota. Colby completed his collegiate career and graduated from the University of Jamestown in 2024, majoring in Business Administration with concentrations in Marketing and Management. He is excited to help players learn and enjoy all aspects of the game of basketball and looks forward to working at UPB while continuing to grow as a trainer and player.

  • Coach Corey was raised in Montara, California. He graduated from Half Moon Bay High School in 2014 and went on to play collegiately at UC Santa Cruz. He remains top 6 in UCSC history for 3 pt percentage at 41.5% through 4 seasons, capping his career off shooting 50% from 3 pt as a senior. Upon graduating, Corey played professionally in Southeast Asia, representing Vietnam in the Asean Basketball League. He also had 2 stints with the Vietnam National team, participating in two editions of the SEA Games - first in Hanoi, Vietnam (2022) and second in Phnom Penh, Cambodia (2023). Corey is excited to join UPB while he pursues his Master’s degree in Sports and Performance Psychology from Menlo College. He is passionate about helping others improve their skill and understanding of the game, and is looking forward to seeing the opportunities basketball will present to UPB athletes.

  • Coach Veronica was born in Burlingame, California but has lived all around the Bay Area, from the Peninsula to the East Bay. After graduating from Arroyo High School in 2017, she went on to play basketball at the University of the Southwest in New Mexico. She also took on running cross country and qualified for the NAIA Nationals in 2019. She received both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Veronica then decided to move back to the Bay Area in 2022 where she was able to help out with an AAU club and work with girls of all ages along with being a Frosh head coach and helped assist the JV and varsity girls basketball teams. Working alongside her former AAU coaches helped her find her passion of giving back to the basketball community. Veronica is excited to be apart of the UPB family and to get to know the community. Her ultimate goal is to not only become a trainer for all levels, but to spread her knowledge to the youth and show them that anything is possible!

  • Coach Dylan was raised in Mountain View, California. He attended Mountain View High School and played basketball and football throughout his time there. He currently attends College of San Mateo and is looking to transfer to a University to pursue a Masters in Sports Management. In 2023, Dylan was presented with the opportunity to coach for a local AAU Program based out of the Peninsula/South Bay. He also works at the El Camino YMCA as a Sports Coordinator. Dylan’s love for coaching grew throughout 2023 as he worked closely with his team and players individually. His favorite part about coaching is seeing players' confidence blossom over time as they invest in themselves. Dylan is excited to join the UPB team and help impact the next generation of athletes.

  • Coach Josh played varsity basketball at Albany high school from sophomore to senior year. He was then recruited by Oberlin College where he was the starting point guard as a freshman. During his sophomore year, he has played in 25 games, making 23 starts averaging 29.5 per game. Coach Josh did 3 summer internships with UPBasketball and has trained with Coach Packie for 5 years. He graduated with a double-major degree in both Economics and Psychology, and was recruited to play professional basketball in Israel's second division. Josh has been playing professional basketball in Israel for three years and has won a championship every single year. Josh is more than happy to be passing on his knowledge of the game to the younger generation at UPBasketball.

  • Coach Ben was born and raised in Orange County, California and attended Orange Lutheran high school where he played basketball. He got his Bachelor’s Degree in psychology at San Francisco State University. During this time, he stayed connected to basketball by coaching. He coached high school basketball team and coached for multiple AAU programs, coaching players from 5 years old to high school as well as worked individually with them. He did an internship “Train the Mind” by Graham Betchart where he learned more about the mental side of the game. This inspired Ben to pursues a Master in Applied Sport and Performance Psychology at Dominican University where he will be finishing up this summer. Ben is excited to join the UPB family. He is passionate about helping players improve their basketball skills as well as their mental skills! He believes that basketball can be a tool to help build skills that can be used to succeed in life. He values working hard, growth mindset, and enjoy the process.

  • Coach Wes was raised in Mendocino, California. He attended Mendo High School and played basketball and golf. After being recruited to Saint Mary’s College of CA to play golf, he went on to finish his college career with a Marketing degree at Santa Rosa JC in 2015. Despite playing collegiate and amatuer golf, his passion and dedication to the game of basketball never wavered. Wes left the Bay Area in 2020 after a career in marketing and management to return to Mendocino where he coached JV and Varsity basketball at his alma mater. This has led to him pursuing a career in hoops to share his enthusiasm and knowledge of the game as a coach, mentor, and trainer.

  • Coach Donovan is a Bay Area native with deep roots in the game. A former standout at San Mateo High School and Canada College, Donovan also competed on top AAU circuits, gaining experience against elite competition across the country. He brings over six years of varsity coaching experience, where he helped develop student-athletes both on and off the court. His passion for the game and mentorship naturally extended into creative media, where he now combines his basketball knowledge with his skills behind the lens.
