Sports have the impact to change lives and teach athletes a great deal about themselves. Here at UPB we understand the integral role youth sports play in helping athletes realize their unlimited potential on and off the court. In the spirit of the holidays, the UPB Youth Charitable Foundation is happy to announce our third fundraiser to showcase the power of youth sports this month. This holiday fundraiser will feature a free clinic with UPB’s player development coaches and a toy drive for children of all ages.

Individual athlete training has evolved and become more essential to youth sports than ever. While training sessions are fruitful for learning and development, the barrier of financial constraints stands in many young athletes’ way. The UPB Youth Charitable Foundation seeks to provide opportunities for young hoopers no matter their financial situation because we are firm believers in the impact sports have.

“When I was growing up, training wasn't even a thing. We just want to make sure that as many kids as possible are exposed to it and that they have an opportunity to put in extra work and have equal access,” UPB’s Director of Operations said.

This will be the first UPB Youth Charitable Foundation clinic hosted in the Daly City and South San Francisco neighborhoods, offering young athletes in these areas an opportunity to train with UPB development coaches free of cost. We strive to spread our love for basketball to communities throughout the Bay Area and are always looking for new places to teach the game of hoops.

Matthew Eck, Charitable Foundation Intern, will be one of the many helping hands during this upcoming event and is looking forward to making an impact on the next generation of hoopers.

“Sports has been such a big part of my life, and I wouldn't want anyone to not have that opportunity because of their financial situation,” Eck said.

On top of sharing our love for basketball with the Daly City and South San Francisco communities, the UPB Youth Charitable foundation is running a toy and school supplies drive for children and students of all ages. If you would like to donate toys and school supplies to the drive visit our Amazon wishlist!

We wish the UPB community and all young hoopers out there a happy holidays and cannot wait to share our love and passion for the game of basketball and for sports in general at this upcoming event!
